Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta has been tipped to replace Wenger at Arsenal
- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could leave the club and the Frenchman is said to be interested in Arteta replacing him
Embattled Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could quit managing the North London club following their recent lackluster performance, and the Frenchman is reportedly interested in Mikel Arteta as his replacement.
Millions of Arsenal fans are tired of Arsene Wenger's tenure at the Emirates Stadium, and they were also livid on Sunday when the Gunners crashed out of the 2018 FA Cup.
According to the Mirror, retired Spanish professional footballer Mikel Arteta who is currently an assistant coach at Manchester City is also interested in making a return to the Gunners.
Arteta signed for Arsenal on August 31, 2011 on a four-year deal for a reported fee of £10 million and he made his debut on 10 September in a 1–0 home win against Swansea City and scored his first Premier League goal for Arsenal in a 4–3 loss against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Before he left Arsenal, Mikel Arteta helped the Gunners beat Hull City in the 2014 FA Cup final which was his first major honor in English football.
He is currently doing well as an assistant to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola as they remain the only unbeaten side this season in the Premier League.
Earlier, splash news had reported how Premier League side Arsenal were sent out of the 2018 English FA Cup by Lower League side Nottingham Forest who defeated the Gunners 4-2 in the third round.
Arsenal who are the FA Cup holders have now failed to defend the title they won last season after losing to more determined side Nottingham Forest.
