Super Eagles star cries as he quits club

Nigeria international Shehu Abdullahi was in tears as he bade an emotional farewell to his Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta when he played his last game against Ethinikos Achnas on Saturday.

The right back found the back of the net as they won 3-1 in their favour, but had to fight back emotions after the game in total appreciation for Anorthosis fans who got behind in his short stay.

Tears flowed as the former Kano Pillars midfielder greeted his team mates and fans soon after the game amidst standing ovation from the 16, 000 plus fans at Anorthosis.

Shehu enjoyed memorable two seasons at Anorthosis, making 46 league appearances for the club that once paid the wages of former Super Eagles striker Mike Obiku.

Shehu will depart Monday to join his new Turkish side Bursaspor, where he will feature alongside compatriots William Troost-Ekong and Mikel Agu.
