Reports in Spanish papers are suggesting that Real Madrid is close on securing a deal for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez this January.
Sanchez’s contract is set to expire at the Emirate Stadium and he has no intention of renewing his stay with Arsenal and on the other hand, the Gunners would not like him to walk away on a free transfer next summer, so they are set to sell him and recoup some proceed they can in this January.
Manchester City is one of his suitors but Pep Guardiola does not want to alter a winning team with the addition of an extra player to the forward line, which makes Real Madrid his most likely destination if he would leave Arsenal this January.
Alexis is a former Barcelona player and he spent three years in Spain and played under Guardiola during his stint with the Camp Nou outfit.
Sanchez fancies a return to Spain but this time to Real Madrid according to report in Don Balon Los Blancos are expected to put in a bid, but the final decision lies with manager Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentino Perez.
Perez is a big fan of Sanchez right from his playing days in Udinese in Italy and believes that he is the missing piece of their puzzle.
