Liverpool have broken the transfer record for a defender with the acquisition of Netherlands international Virgil Van Dijk for 85 million euros.
The Reds have confirmed on their official website that they have agreed a deal with Southampton, and the player himself, that will see the 26-year-old defender move to Anfield when the transfer window re-opens on January 1, 2018.
